The second book in The Secret Series by Jessica Sorensen picks up where the last book left off.
After being separated for a year Ella and Micha are together again. Ella is back at university and now she is seeing a therapist to help her cope with things. Micha is on tour with his band. It' hard for Micha being away from Ella after he just got her back, and he is making the other members of his band miserable by his behavior over missing her. They try very hard to get the long distance relationship to work but all they keep doing is thinking that the other might be cheating on the other.
Micha wants her with him but he is would never ask her to leave school just to be with him. Ella is finally starting to have things get better in her family with her brother's weeding coming up soon, and her father is in rehab getting help with his drinking. Ella is constantly filled with the fear that she is starting to go crazy.
Ella is constantly having the same dream over and over again about her and Micha on opposite sides of the bridge so to better protect him she While Micha is away Ella lies to him that she cheats on him so he would stop having feelings for her. Micha also finds himself dealing with issues from his father who left him years ago and the drama that Ella has placed on him.
This book was, in my opinion, probably the worst in the whole series. The title was very misleading. By looking at the cover and the title you could pretty much tell that they were going to get engaged but it didn't happen until the end. There was very little romance.
The book was filled with nothing but drama along with the story line being repetitive. Which makes me wonder if Sorensen actually plans out her novels using the book series bible like most writers do, or if she just makes the plot up as she goes along. Ella still constantly says that night on the bridge and it tends to get a little bit irritating at times. Ella has a nervous breakdown, she starts to think she is not good enough for Micha, and so she starts trying to run away from Micha thinking he will be happier without her only it brings them more pain.
The only reason I keep reading this series is because of Micha. After EVERYTHING that Ella puts him through he still loves her no matter what! (The sign of an amazing man!). It's sad to me that Micha is constantly getting drunk over everything that happens.
The only sort of romance that happened was toward the end of the book when Micha sort of proposed to Ella. The book was okay but the first book in the series The Secret of Ella and Micha was way better than this one. I already bought all the books in the series so I want to see what is going to happen to Micha!
