Mystic (Soul Seekers 3) by Alyson Noel

Since arriving in Enchantment, New Mexico, everything in Daire Santos life has changed. And not all for the better. While she's come to accept and embrace her new powers as a Soul Seeker, Daire struggles with the responsibility she holds navigating between the worlds of the living and the dead. And with the fate of her boyfriend Dace in the balance, Daire must put aside her personal feelings and focus on defeating Cade, whose evil plans threaten everyone she loves and the world as she knows it.

MYSTIC is the third book in The Soul Seekers, a magnificent new series about a girl who can navigate between the worlds of the living and the dead, by #1 New York Times bestselling author Alyson Noël.

Daire returns from the Underworld, and Paloma fears that they are running out of time and they must speed up their training This was by far the shortest book in the whole series. The story also lagged quite a lot. As like the other books in the series the plot didn't start to pick up until page 100, and it feels like the same thing is happening over and over again Daire keeps trying to kill Cade but something gets in the way and she's not able to finish the task of killing him without killing Dace in the process because they are so connected. The horrible plot twist at the end makes me wonder if I should finish this series straight through as I see a predictable ending coming just like the ending in her previous series the Immortals. As you get further there is more danger, and more suspense. I liked some of her other works but my only complaint is that the writing is starting to get pretty dull with this series as nothing happens until the end. Noel spends a lot of time explaining what's going to happen. Pretty much most of everything that happened in the later books of the series was revealed in the first book. If I do read the final book I probably won't blog about it. I gave this book a lukewarm rating.
