A SACRED OATH
A FALLEN ANGEL
A FORBIDDEN LOVE
Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.
I had been wanting to read this book series for a while, and I asked for the box set for Christmas, and I was actually surprised I got it, half the time my relatives give me books I have already read.
In the prologue it takes place in the 15th century. Nora meets Patch in biology class (enter Twilight rip-off). and the course is about to begin. The high school coach who is teaching the course puts up the seating chart and sits next to paranormal creature Patch. In their first joint assignment they get to know each other (another Twilight rip-off). Nora starts to realize Patch is horrible, but yet still continues to get close to him. When Nora notices that Patch has scars on his arms and it prompts her to look up angels (Another Twilight Rip-Off). Nora meets Dabria who is Patch's ex and tells him that he can make it back to heaven if he kills Nora. In the end Patch rips off Dabria's wings, but she's still alive.
It seems to me like every paranormal book is imitating the plot of Twilight. All the books I have been seeing are a teen girl who lives in a small town and a mysterious new guy moves there and it turns out the mysterious new guy is some paranormal creature. If you didn't like Twilight I don't think you'll like this book one bit. Nora is like a carbon copy of Bella she's very clumsy and naive. I don't understand the abusive relationship between Nora and Patch. From Twlight I thought Edward should have been burned at the stakes for how he treated Bella, but Patch makes Edward look nice. Even when Patch threatened to kill Nora she still trusted him and wanted to be with him. I kept screaming at Nora for her being so ridiculously stupid. The author stated it took her five years to write the book but there was really no plot in the story. I read the whole book series and I didn't like it one bit.
